Cemetery Services in the US
IBISWorld, June 2011, Pages: 37
Six feet under: The popularity of lower cost cremations buries industry revenue
Cemetery Services in the US
Resurrecting profit
Over the past five years, the trend toward lower-cost cremation services over burial services has adversely affected revenue and profit and increased merger and acquisition activity. As disposable incomes return, people will be more likely to spend on more expensive grave sites and services, but cremations will still remain popular. As a result, operators will implement more value-added services to offset cremations' low profit margins.
The industry includes establishments which operate sites or structures reserved for interment of human or animal remains. The industry also includes companies which offer cremation services. This industry does not include funeral homes, nor does it include funeral homes which operate cemeteries, these are both included in the Funeral Homes industry, NAICS 81221.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
