SINGAPORE (Standard & Poor's) Feb. 18, 2013--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it has affirmed its long- and short-term sovereign credit ratings on Japan at 'AA-' and 'A-1+', respectively. The outlook on the long-term ratings remains negative. Standard & Poor's rating on Japan balances its extremely strong external position, its prosperous and diversified economy, and its recovered financial system with a very weak fiscal position, aging demographics, and (until now) persistent deflation....
