Ziyad Salameh Professor, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Wind Turbine Research Group, UMass Lowell, USA. Dr. Ziyad Salameh is Professor and former Department Head of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, where he is also the Director of the Center for Electric Car and Energy Conversion. For the past three decades, his research has focused on power electronics, the development and testing of batteries, testing electric vehicles, hybrid wind/photovoltaic power systems, super capacitors, and fuel cells . He regularly teaches a graduate-level course in Alternative Energy Systems upon which this book is based. He is an IEEE lifetime senior member and was awarded the 2015 IEEE Power & Energy Society Ramakumar Family Renewable Energy Excellence Award
