This research analyses informational strategies of the metallurgy complex companies and assesses images, created by the leading metallurgical holdings in the media.

The presence of metallurgical companies in informational field throughout the year 2002 is analyzed on the basis of qualitative and quantitative methods. The total volume of records about the companies in the media, constancy of their presence in media space, balance between positive, negative and neutral publications.

According to the data received, the following ratings were presented in the report:

· Integrated rating of metallurgic holdings (made of ferrous, non-ferrous metallurgy and tube industry complex enterprises),

· Rating of ferrous metallurgy enterprises,

· Rating of the tube and metal products enterprises

· Rating of non-ferrous metallurgy enterprises.


The winners according to the total amount of records, quality of publications, constancy of presence in informational field were shown. Around 60 metallurgical companies are the participants of rating.

The informational structure of the leading holdings and enterprises of the industry is structured in the report, their weak and strong sides from the point of view of effective image policy are demonstrated. The research allows to understand which metallurgical companies realize energetic and effective activity for forming positive image in Russian press and Internet.

The assessments of adequacy of their informational strategy to public expectations and needs, the developments of informational struggle in summer 2003 are forecasted in the research.

The rating was made by the Center for Current Politics in Russia experts according to the original method, which was successfully tested in the research of oil and gas complex.
