Fertilizer Manufacturing in the US
The Fertilizer Manufacturing industry's revenue has been volatile during the past five years. When the recession hit in late 2008 and 2009, demand for fertilizer dropped as farmers reduced their crop production and distributors cut their inventories. Nevertheless, the industry's performance has remained relatively strong and revenue will rise in the next five years. As farmers plant more crops and fertilizer prices go up, the industry will benefit.
This industry primarily manufactures fertilizer products. These products contain a different mixture of the three vital nutrients essential for plant growth: nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium.
