Telecommunications in Central Asia

The nations of Central Asia have a disparate gap between the quality of their infrastructures and the status of their communications industries. Some nations in the region, most notably India and Turkey, have made significant headway in joining the developed world many others, such as Afghanistan and Iran, are having a difficult time adjusting to the necessary changes. Communication has been at the heart of the struggle for these nations to join the global community. This report examines the status of telecommunications and the prospects for the future development that exist in the countries of the region.
