Retail Sector in Beijing

China's retail market is growing at a tremendous rate. According to experts, predictions, by 2005, the total retail sales of consumer goods in China will reach between approximately RMB 4,800 billion and RMB 5,000 billion (USD 580.41 billion to USD 604.59 billion). In particular, the pace of development of the Beijing retail market itself has been astounding. In the 1st Quarter of 2004, Beijing's actual retail sales accounted for USD 12.9 billion out of the nation's USD 304.9 billion.
