Among the many countries in Asia, China boasts the largest TV market in the world. Japan enjoys the fastest development in LCD TV globally, and Korean vendors top the global TFT-LCD panel shipment while competing with Japan in PDP TV panel production.

In 2004, the Asian digital TV market reached 10.4 million units, led by China, Japan and followed by Korea as the third ranked market. Shipments are expected to reach 28.8 million by 2008 with the largest segment being LCD TVs at that point.
