Chinese Markets for Pesticides
AMID Co, Oct 2001, Pages: 164
China's demand for pesticides has grown at a fast pace in the past decade. In the next five years, both production and demand will continue to grow. This new study examines China's economic trends, investment environment, industry development, supply and demand, industry capacity, industry structure, marketing channels and major industry participants. Historical data (1990, 1995 and 2000) and long-term forecasts throughout 2005 and 2010 are presented. Major producers in China are profiled.
Long-term forecasts for major pesticide production and demand are included. The report contains 36 tables and 9 charts. Key producers are profiled. Major top Chinese pesticide producers are listed in the producer directory section.
Most primary and secondary research was done in China in order to access up-to-date government regulations, market information and industry data. Data was collected from Chinese government publications, Chinese language newspapers and magazines, Chinese chemical websites, Chinese chemical industry associations, local governments' chemical industry bureaus, Chinese industry yearbooks and pesticide industry publications. Interviews were conducted with Chinese industry experts, university professors, and plastic producers in China.
China’s economic boom of over two decades has spurred the rapid rising consumption of pesticides. The Chinese pesticide industry has entered a mature period. Since 1990, the country’s pesticide consumption has grown 2.7% annually. It is forecast that the Chinese agriculture will continue to fuel demand for pesticides and lead the industry in growth. The total market demand for plastic pipes will increase 3.3% per annum to 344,400 metric tons in the year 2005. In order to become less dependent on pesticide imports, China will continue to expand its production capacity in pesticide quality and variety. Output reached 439,600 metric tons in 2000 and will advance to 652,200 million metric tons by 2005, increasing by 8.2% per annum. The foreign trade of plastic pipes will be reinforced in the 21st century. It is forecast that plastic pipe’ imports and exports will advance to 81,400 and 111,200 metric tons individually.
