A Survey of Current Applications of Fluorescent Proteins in Drug Discovery

Description: 89% of respondents said that the availability of 'GFP' had improved lead discovery productivity.

The Current Applications of Fluorescent Proteins in Drug Discovery Survey is based on the responses of 519 pharmaceutical scientists and managers who completed a questionnaire fielded by us between April 7th and May 7th, 2004.

The goal of the survey was to collect baseline data concerning the current and planned deployment of fluorescent protein reagents in drug discovery and related applications.

All participants in the Web-based survey were pre-qualified recipients selected from our internal database of biopharmaceutical report buyers, subscribers of the journal BioTechniques, and attendees of IBC Life Science events.

The questionnaire consisted of 31 closed or partially closed-ended questions and several open-ended questions designed to encourage further thoughts regarding how such reagents may impact new chemical entity (NCE) discovery.
