Eybl Group, headquartered in Krems, Austria, is Austria's largest textile company and one of Europe's leading manufacturers of automotive interiors. Its customers include nine of the world's ten largest automotive groups.

In recent years Eybl has streamlined its product range and eliminated many previously low margin contracts. As a result, its performance has greatly improved. In its 2003/04 financial year, despite a harsh trading environment, earnings grew significantly and the company moved back into the black with a net profit of Euro9 mn (US$11 mn) based on a turnover of Euro342.2 mn. This marked a successful turnaround for a company which in 2001 recorded a loss of Euro24.7 mn on sales of Euro425.7 mn.

The thrust of Eybl's strategy over the last few years has been to retain its core logistics and textile operations of weaving, knitting and fabric finishing primarily in Austria and neighbouring Germany, while building on the fabrication of finished car interior components in lower cost countries, mainly in Eastern Europe. At the same time, it has largely withdrawn from activities outside Europe, notably in the USA and Brazil, where it had less control.

The company now has about 4,300 employees. It produces at ten European locations and one in Morocco, supplying seat covers or seat cover fabrics to around 3.6 mn vehicles a year.
