Database Subscription Pricing Benchmarks
Shore Communications Inc, April 2005, Pages: 27
This report examines the state of pricing for B2B subscription databases as of the end of 2004. It also benchmarks its findings against pricing patterns in 2000, providing a unique look at pricing trends in the industry as the Internet has evolved and matured over the last several years. The primary issue that has been confounding the industry is that the proliferation of free information sources has made an increasing number of information users resistant, if not unwilling, to pay for basic database content. Those that continued to buy typically wanted to pay less, making price increases out of the question for many publishers. The report provides analysis and benchmark data that examines overall market trends, marketing paid subscription data products, pricing and bundling, price-per-listing metrics and trends and issues in multi-user licensing.
