Synopsis
In this report we profile some of the smaller major telecommunications operators in the New Zealand market. These include CallPlus, M2, WxC, Southern Cross Cables and Chorus. CallPlus provides residential and business customers nationwide with a full range of retail Internet, voice and data services. M2, purchased Black+White and provides fixed-line services, mobile broadband and fixed-line services
Chorus is now a provider of fixed-line access and telecommunications infrastructure after it was demerged from the incumbent operator, Telecom in late 2011 and is profiled in this report.
A brief overview of the major telecommunications players in New Zealand is also provided in the report.
Telecom New Zealand dominates the market in fixed-line access for both the residential and business sectors and is also one of the two major mobile operators,
Vodafone New Zealand being the other major mobile player is also a fixed-line operator;
TelstraClear with its fibre network is also a fixed-line operator.
Kordia owns one of the largest telecom networks in the country and is the major provider of television and radio broadcast facilities.
