We have observed almost flat revenues in worldwide semiconductor revenues. The market revenues for the May 2005 worldwide semiconductor trade outstripped the revenues of May 2004 by a negligible 0.6%. The May 2005 Year-To-Date (YTD) sales exceed May 2004 YTD sales by 8.7%. Regionally, Asia Pacific accounted for 45.2% of all semiconductor-manufacturing revenues in May 2005. By product, MOS Logic overtook MOS Micro as the strongest semiconductor product category. The WSTS released statistics about wafer starts, fab capacities and process geometries for 1Q05. Our charts fab utilization back to 1Q97 and utilization of process geometries to 1Q02.

The July 2005 Electronics Report is the comprehensive source for May 2005 market data, including semiconductor shipments, currency trends, book-to-bill ratios of key market segments and selected US end-product sales. The graphs and tables are handy reference guides toward understanding trends in the fast-moving semiconductor landscape. Analysis is brief but to the point. The Electronics Report converts data from the SIA, the WSTS, US Department of Commerce, the US Federal Reserve Board, IPC and SEMI into a convenient platform that helps facilitate understanding of this high technology.
