VoIP Equipment & Technology: SMBs and Branch Office Markets Prefer Multi-Service Business Gateways!
In-Stat/MDR, Sep 2005, Pages: 33
In September 2004, an emerging market for a new generation of multi-service gateway devices called the Business Gateway was identified. In contrast to the plethora of multi-service devices that are optimized for a single primary application, these devices are designed to perform multiple primary communications functions including routing, security, voice, and wireless access. Over the last twelve months, Business Gateway devices have been introduced, and are currently in field trials worldwide.
We have conducted a market survey of businesses operating small, medium and branch offices to identify communication requirements, equipment preferences, and buying criteria. The findings suggest the SMBs and branch office markets have a strong preference toward multi-service Business Gateway devices. Furthermore, network service providers are the vendor of choice by SMBs and large enterprises. Based on this market research, we forecast that the Business Gateway market will grow to $2.1B by 2010. This report offers an in-depth analysis of SMB and branch office buying preferences that will heavily influence service provider, VAR and equipment supplier marketing strategies.
