The fixed telemetry market may not be as glamorous as voice services or as rapidly growing as wireless Internet access, but its market potential is ultimately larger. The challenges are that the time horizons to buy and install are longer than for voice services and the buying process is more complicated. On the positive side, these customers are large, reliable customers that do not need much support once installed. A deliberate plan to serve these market segments is necessary to achieve customer satisfaction and maximize profitability.
