Enterprise Software Licensing - Global
iReach, Feb 2006, Pages: 15
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software runs the core operations of a business, including finance/accounting, production, inventory, order management, procurement, and human resources (HR) management. However, implementations have often been fragmented and departmentalised, and different applications have had varying levels of success.
Enterprise applications licensing software refers to the available user-based metrics, usage metrics, and delivery and financing mechanisms teamed with the policies that affect the software life-cycle ownership experience and the software life-cycle costs related to the customer-vendor experience in procuring software. We predict that the ERP market will grow by approximately 4% through to 2008. A similar growth will happen with license revenues and total revenues excluding the impact of currency fluctuations.
Regulatory compliance continues to serve as a catalyst for some overdue systems consolidations and upgrades to achieve better controls. At the same time, companies recognise that support and integration costs may be reduced by consolidation to fewer systems and application instances.
In this report we examine the trends in ERP to simplify licensing metrics and incorporate more flexible licensing policies to adapt to a paradigm shift in enterprise licensing software.
