The purpose of this report is to provide a roadmap for companies and individuals who are seeking funding for water and wastewater conservation projects in the US. While this report focuses on the federal government, many state agencies are explored and analyzed. In addition this report includes a brief discussion of private sector spending for water conservation programs to comply with federal, state and local standards.
The US budget and allied spending programs on water conservation issues is comprised of a complex myriad of various government departments and agencies, many with overlapping responsibilities. There are nine federal agencies and hundreds of state, regional and local government agencies that provide financial assistance or have direct input into the writing of regulations and specification.
Thousands of pages exist on the various government agencies websites and environmental organizations. Reviewing this data requires thousands of man-hours. CDA has reviewed and analyzed this data and created an easy to use digest of these programs, including monies appropriated and basic program goals.
Also discussed is the critical nature of water crisis in the United States and the ultimate necessity for addressing these matters in the near future.
