NEC has a close relationship with NTT DoCoMo; as NTT DoCoMo's operations have expanded overseas, so have NEC's, and NEC is now a major global supplier of WCDMA handsets and network equipment. Many other Japanese companies have been withdrawing from China, but NEC has been working aggressively to develop the China market.
