NEC is Japan's largest communications equipment vendor. It supplies customers with a wide range of products, including core network equipment, base stations and mobile phones. It also provides various types of solutions and application service platforms; NEC is thus an all-round communications solution provider. NEC has a close relationship with NTT DoCoMo; as NTT DoCoMo's operations have expanded overseas, so have NEC's, and NEC is now a major global supplier of WCDMA handsets and network equipment.
