The road & rail freight industry is defined as consisting of revenues generated from freight transportation by road and rail. Units of volumes are measured in freight tonne kilometres (FTK). Both road and rail freight volumes include both domestic and international freight, which for the purposes of this report are counted in the country of origin. Any currency conversions used in the creation of this report have been calculated using constant 2008 annual average exchange rates. For the purpose of this report Asia-Pacific is deemed to comprise of Australia, China, Japan, India, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. The Americas comprises Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, and the US. Europe comprises Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
