About craft beers
Craft beers are flavored beers brewed in microbreweries or small, independent, and traditional breweries. Small breweries are those that produce less than 6 million barrels of beer annually, while independent breweries are those where not more than 25% of the brewery is owned and managed by an alcoholic beverage company. Traditional breweries are those breweries where 50% of the volumes of beer produced are malt beers that use high-quality ingredients. Craft beers have distinctive tastes as compared to regular beers made of various flavors and ingredients. These beers are manufactured and served fresh in bottles, cans, and kegs.

The report forecasts the craft beer market in the US to grow at a CAGR of 18.3% and 16.72% in terms of revenue and volume, respectively, over the period 2014-2019.

New Report Released: – Craft Beer Market in the US 2015-2019

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the Craft Beer Market in the US: Boston Beer, D.G Tuengling & Sons, Gambrius, New Belgium Brewing and Sierra Nevada Brewing

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: Anheuser-Busch, Bell's Brewery, Brooklyn Brewery, Craft Brew Alliance, Deschutes Brewery, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Duvel Moortgat, Harpoon Brewery, Lagunitas Brewing, Matt Brewing, MillerCoors, Minhas Craft Brewery, Oskar Blues Brewing, and Stone Brewing.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “The popularity of canned craft beer is gradually increasing in the US. Earlier, craft beer was served directly from casks or kegs rather than from bottles or cans. However, the market has seen an increase in the demand for canned craft beer. Currently, brewers are using cans for craft beer as aluminum cans have broader openings that keep the taste of the beer intact and consistent by keeping out oxygen and light. Moreover, with the help of these cans, the beer remains cold for longer and also adds to its aesthetic appeal.”

According to the report, primarily driven by the increased demand for craft beer, the number of craft brewers is increasing in the US. As a result, new brewers and existing small and large brewers are introducing new product innovations in order to increase their consumer base.

Further, the report states that the lack of awareness among beer drinkers about the various brands and varieties available in craft beer is limiting the growth of the market.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
