About generators
Generators are devices that convert mechanical energy into electric energy. The source of mechanical energy can be an internal combustion engine, a hand crank, compressed air, or a reciprocating steam engine. Internal combustion engine uses diesel, gasoline, propane gas, and natural gas to produce mechanical energy, and this mechanical energy is converted into electric energy with the help of generator assembly. Generators are backup devices designed to provide temporary AC or DC power. They can be used as a source of backup or emergency power for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. A typical generator is powered via a fuel engine. Based on portability, generators can be segmented into portable and standby.

The analysts forecast the global stationary generator market to grow at a CAGR of 5.9% over the period 2014-2019.

New Report Released: - Global Stationary Generator Market 2015-2019

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the Global Stationary Generator Market: Briggs & Stratton, Caterpillar, Cummins, Generac and Kohler

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: Aggreko, APR Energy, Atlas Copco, Broadcrown, Dresser-Rand, F.G. Wilson, GE Energy, Himoinsa, Kirloskar Oil Engines, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, MQ Power, MTU Onsite Energy, Perkins, Pramac, Wacker Neuson, Wuxi Kipor Power, Wartsila, and Yanmar.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “Modern power generators are undergoing a series of technological advancements that makes them a lot more unique than the traditional diesel or gas generators in use till now. From advanced monitoring equipment to hi-tech control systems, vendors are incorporating all these features in their generators to differentiate from their own previous product portfolio.”

According to the report, to complement the economic growth and to satisfy the demand of the growing population, both the Chinese and Indian governments are investing profusely for the development of infrastructure in the countries. These nations are focusing on the development of infrastructure as a critical area for development of the overall economy. This drives the building construction market in APAC despite the soaring prices of properties.

Further, the report states that price is the major decisive factor for most of the end-users because they have tight budgets and increased expenses. The customers expect to have a generator with additional functionality and reliability but at a lower price. Therefore, many vendors are reducing their product prices to seize the demand from cost-driven companies and SMEs, resulting in increasing competition among the vendors over a period of time.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
