Chinas hot melt adhesives industry has already entered the mature period of the market after 20 years of fast development, but the output of hot melt adhesives in the future will still maintain a over 10% growth (reaching 76.7 kilotons in 2004), this is benefited from two big fast developing domains: disposable hygienic articles and adhesive tapes and labels. In addition to the disposable hygienic articles and the adhesive tapes and labels, hot melt adhesives are also widely applied to industries such as hot melt adhesives, shoe making and floor leather.
China now has nearly 70 hot melt adhesives producers, most of which are only producing the hot melt adhesives product of a single application type. The constitution of the enterprises is mainly privately operated enterprises and foreign capital enterprises. Privately operated enterprises occupy the major part of the market share of the hot melt adhesives market.
The competition will be more and more intense when the hot melt adhesives industry enters the mature period, the market will concentrate to the enterprises with a great scale and level; the quality management, the product and service innovation will become the focal point of the competition.
