This market report analyses the market for the wholesale distribution of electrical products, components and materials, primarily used in buildings, construction projects or in factories and industrial premises. The products concerned are mostly related to electricity distribution, circuit protection, lighting and power control. Typical products include wire, cables, fusegear, circuit breakers and motor control devices.
Most of these products are made by major international component manufacturers in very high volumes. Owing to the fragmented nature of the electrical contracting and industrial markets, electrical wholesalers are used by product manufacturers to stock and distribute their products.
This report does not deal with direct sales between manufacturers and customers — a route that is used in some high-volume or very specialist applications.
