How does the size of your IT costs compare to other Nordic companies and organisations and what differences are there in IT costs between the Nordic countries?

How are IT costs in Nordic companies and organisations allocated and how will the allocation change in 2006?

Will outsourcing increase and is there a correlation between low IT costs and outsourcing?

What are the top priority IT investments for Nordic companies and organisations?

How much does it cost to provide a standard equipped stationary PC and laptop?

The IT budgets of Nordic companies and organisations have during the last year stabilised after a downward pressure during several years. There are signs of an increased need for new investments and the question is how this will affect total IT costs. Will it be possible to realize cost reductions that balance the increased investment costs and if so, in what categories will savings appear?

“Nordic IT Costs & Investments 2005/2006” maps out the IT costs and investments of Nordic companies and organisations in 2005 and 2006. The size of the IT costs of companies in both companies and public organisations are reported. Furthermore, the allocation of IT costs on invested resources (hardware, software, personnel etc.) as well as the allocation on obtained functions (infrastructure, ERP etc.) are described and analysed. The expected change in IT investments between 2005 and 2006 as well as the types of planned investments which are prioritised are also reported.

The Nordic IT Costs & Investments 2005/2006 report is designed to:

- Provide comparison figures for the size of IT costs in Nordic companies and organisations
- Show how the IT costs of Nordic companies and organisations are allocated on the resources that are invested in IT such as hardware and outsourcing services
- Show how the IT costs of Nordic companies and organisations are allocated on the resources that are obtained from the invested resources such as IT infrastructure
- Provide decision support in negotiating IT budgets
- Offer support in making decisions on IT investments.

Method
The survey, which is quantitative, has been carried out by means of a survey of leading decision makers such as CIO, IT strategist, CFO and CEO in Nordic companies and organisations in the private and public sector. Countries: Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland

Sectors: Trade, Services, Manufacturing, Public sector

Size: Medium-sized (25 – 100 MEUR), Large (>100 MEUR)
