End users in the Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) markets increasingly prefer to have no direct contact with the testing of their products. Because of this new trend, the demand for complete solutions, including installation, test generation and continued levels of service and support, is rising tremendously. As a result, the provision of after-sales services becomes more important than ever. Customers are increasingly attracted to complete solutions, including extensive support, states the author of the report. They are generally prepared to pay a premium price if the value offered is considered reasonable. In addition, the extra revenue generated through service contracts becomes increasingly important as companies struggle to remain profitable.
