World Broadband Satellite Services Markets
Frost & Sullivan, May 2004
As the customer base for broadband is serviced on a case-by-case basis and is geographically spread over a wide area, there is considerable fragmentation in service channels. This raises costs and presents coordination and logistical issues. Without a standardized product, the market will remain scattered because of thin distribution channels. Scale and coverage are needed to succeed and so partnering with regional monopolies to leverage their existing customer base and marketing campaigns can offer the best return by reducing marketing costs.
