Morocco Autos Report Q2 2016

Due to 2015's strong sales performance, we believe that in 2016, Morocco will become the fastest growing vehicle market across the North African countries that tracked. A combination of low interest rates and a likely improvement in the construction sector contributes to the positive stance towards the market.

- This quarter, the forecast period has been extended to 2020.

- Over this period, we expect new vehicle sales to grow 55.4%, to take total new vehicle sales to over the 210,000 unit mark by 2020.

- We expect stronger growth from passenger cars (59.3%) than commercial vehicles (12.4%) over the 2016-2020 forecast period.

- Beyond 2016, we believe that strong medium-term growth in sales will be driven by increased prosperity in the country, as well as cheaper models available from domestic production and the elimination of import taxes on European models.
