This research analyzes the present situation, prospects and the important participation of the Supermarket sector within the retail trade in Argentina, involving supermarkets, hypermarkets, independent retail self-service stores, and hard discounts. The development of the traditional food and beverage market is also analyzed, as well as the increasing incursion of Chinese supermarkets in the Federal Capital, Greater Buenos Aires and the interior of the country.
