But the window of opportunity for Norway to take advantage of this short term demand has a limited time span and it faces strong competition in the long term. There is a sense of urgency then, to take advantage of its position now but this urgency has become a hot political issue since it coincides with a move to close temporarily, areas of the continental shelf to exploration and production. This new report will cover all the important questions including:
Maturity of the Norwegian oil and gas resources
The need for new acreage
A fresh look at petroleum taxation
The environmental challenge
Connecting to the gas markets
The changing technology
The concentration of upstream power
Internationalisation: a two-way process
