France: The Outsourcing Competitor Landscape
Ovum, August 2006, Pages: 13
France is Europe’s third largest outsourcing market. The country is characterised by the following:
- transition from on-site work towards shared services centres
- high adoption of managed services rather than pure outsourcing contracts, involving staff and asset transfer
- little mega-deal activity: there was only one large mega-deal in 2004 (Schneider Electric).
However, we should see an increase in the number of large deals in 2005, such as the Renault contract with HP, CSC and Atos Origin (worth an aggregated euro586.5 million) overall, the market remains characterised by over-capacity and strong price pressure in infrastructure-led outsourcing, particularly around desktop services.
