- But, Broadcast and cable TV stream share of the top ten sites, networks and destinations fell to 4.6% in October 2003 (those figures do not include download and play video offered by ESPN.com, ABC.com and Movies.com)

INTERNET MUSIC RADIO:
- Unlike streaming video where broadcasters and cable TV networks have a meaningful, and even significant market share presence in content categories like news and sports, the audio category is almost totally dominated by Internet brands like Shoutcast (a platform interface owned by AOL), Radio@AOL.com (including Spinner.com, Netscape radio, and AOL broadband and narrowband versions), Live365, Launch (owned by Yahoo), Real Networks and MusicMatch.com

- A combination of a down/depressed advertising market through much of 2002 and the first half of 2003, a tough macro economy, limited investment dollars and CARP-related issues (Copyright Arbitration Panel) that added another expense item for broadcasters to deal with limited the enthusiasm and entrance of major offline broadcasting groups into Internet radio.
