Car battery market development is closely connected with car fleet development.

Car fleet of Ukraine decreased during the years of crisis, especially in 2015, due to the decrease of purchase capacity of the population. Nevertheless, in line with stabilization of general economic situation in the state, since 2016 the number of vehicles started to grow, and this trend continued in 2017.

The market of vehicles in the city and region of Kyiv was one of the most dynamically growing in our state.

In 2017 the automotive fleet of cars in the city and region of Kyiv is assessed as 1,6 mln. pcs. The cars represent approximately 77% in general structure of automotive fleet. The share of trucks is 13,5%, the share of motorcycles is 7%, and the share of buses is 2,5%.

After adoption of the law about decrease of excise rates for imported used vehicles, they are actively imported in Ukraine from abroad. The number of such vehicles actively grows in Ukraine each year. Thus, 3,3-fold growth of the primary market of used cars to compare with 2016 was observed in the last year - up to 56 744 cars were imported. The most popular leaders were used cars of Renault, Volkswagen and Skoda brands.

It should be noted that the batteries installed on used vehicles have the smaller operating period than their initial life cycle. In addition, used cars have large mileage, so, operating period of batteries installed on them is reduced.
