Extract from Executive Summary:

Packaging often involves several manufacturers

For complex cosmetics and toiletries packaging projects, several packaging manufacturers can often get involved, with a leader that assumes the responsibility for the delivery of the packaging specifications: for example, for a perfume, specialists of glass, pumps and folding cartons and printing can be associated under the leadership of the glassmaker which might be the company bringing the highest value aspect to the pack. However, for most packaging projects, quality and price dominate as major criteria for pack/supplier choice: the increase in prices of raw materials and energy often translates into an increase in packaging prices even if the entirety of the increase is not passed onto the consumer.
