This White Paper examines the ability of SMS to aid Brazilian operators in boosting overall service revenues. Pyramid Research addresses this question from two angles. First, we ask: does SMS contribute directly to overall mobile service subscriber growth? Second, Pyramid Research analyses whether the adoption of SMS can indirectly contribute to overall service revenue growth by helping attract subscribers to a given operator's network or, perhaps more important, by helping to retain subscribers and thus avoid costly churn.
