Fiberlink: Managing the Mobile Device Lifecycle
Saugatuck Technology, June 2007, Pages: 4
Having already transformed itself from a provider of network access services to value-added managed services targeting the mobile device life-cycle, Fiberlink Communications can now lay claim to a leadership position as a developer of innovative SaaS-based mobile security technology.
This market position is based on Fiberlink’s ability to deliver an integrated and wide-ranging set of mobile security solutions, while keeping abreast of a constantly shifting mobile device landscape and providing a menu of connectivity options. Not surprisingly, Fiberlink’s position is coveted by a variety of competitors, including wireless carriers, incumbent security suite providers, and access aggregators. Maintaining this leadership position will require Fiberlink to continue to innovate, not just at the technology level, but also at the business model level. Indeed, the company is currently expanding its channel relationships, and moving to leverage the Extend360 Mobility platforms ability to accommodate best-of-breed security solutions by delivering through a software-as-a-service modality.
