Capital Markets of India: An Investor's Guide

Description: Capital Markets in India: An Investor's Guide aims to provide the first comprehensive book on investing in the India markets. India is right now at the forefront of globalization. The book's focus is on the equity market, but it also addresses derivatives, fixed income, and foreign direct investments. Chapter topics include facts about the Indian economy; the Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) regulations, registration process, and applications; detail about the market regulation and the regulator; the very important market safeguards built into the Indian market systems; and lists of companies ranked by various criteria such as capitalization, turnover, industry, and earnings. The book even supplies investors and traders with contact information for many of the key institutions and market players. Readers will not only gain basic information about how the markets in India work, but also the contacts and facts to help them with their own investing plan.

I would encourage anyone, whether an individual or an institutional investor, who has existing securities investments in India or who is contemplating making such investments, to read Alan Kanuk's book." -Anthony M. Miller, Executive Managing Director and Head of Asian Investments, Ramius Capital Group, LLC "Currently one of the world's fastest growing economies and destined to become the most populous country in the world, India warrants investors' attention. Kanuk, drawing upon a rich and lengthy career, shows investors how to navigate the Indian markets. This book is essential reading for those who invest in India." -Brian M. Beitner, CFA, Managing Director, Senior Equity Strategist, Trust Company of the West "With the Indian economy continuing on its rapid growth path, the country's capital market is also going through a metamorphosis. The domestic market capitalization has recently overtaken the GDP in value. The time is ripe for India watchers to take a closer look at the Indian capital market. Alan Kanuk's book on the subject is timely and well worth reading." -Ambassador Neelam Deo, Consul General of India in New York
