About the Authors


Professor Feng Nai Qian is a Professor at Tsinghua University China, guest Professor of Meiji University Japan, Visiting Professor of Kuala Lumpur Infrastructure University and a doctoral supervisor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a member of RILEM78MCA, and a member of the Architectural Society of Japan.

In China, he served as director of Diatomite Association, deputy director of Concrete and Cement Products Committee of Silicate Society, member of Building Materials Academic Committee of Architectural Society, member of Concrete Durability Committee, technical consultant of Beijing Municipal Government, and technical consultant of Beijing Building Materials Bureau,

He has published more than 10 books such as: (Construction materials), (Flowable Concrete), (High Strength Concrete Technologies), (High Performance Concrete), (Mineral Admixture for Cement and Concrete), (Testing and Quality Control in Cement Industry) and more than 260 technical papers in Chinese, English and Japanese.

Mr Lu Jin Ping is currently the President of the American Concrete Institute - Singapore Chapter and the Managing Director of Hitchins International Pte Ltd, Singapore.  Mr Lu has more than 30 years of experience working in areas of research & development, testing and technical consultancy for construction materials. He was a Lecturer in the department of construction materials at Tongji University China from 1988-1994. Mr Lu serves as Advisory Committee member of Temasek Polytechnic, School of Applied Science and Member of Board of Directors, International Congress on Polymers in Concrete (ICPIC).  Mr Lu has also presented more than 50 papers at various international conferences in the region and has published articles on testing, performance and research on construction materials. He is the lead auditor for the certification of Ready-Mix Concrete Products by Singapore Accreditation Council.  He received five years’ service award of dedicated voluntary service to the community from People’s Association and Merit Award from Spring Singapore for Meritorious service and contribution to the Singapore National Standardisation Programme.

Gai-Fei Peng is a professor of civil engineering materials at the Beijing Jiaotong University of China and, a vice chairman of the high-performance concrete committee in the China Ceramic Society. He received his Ph.D. from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and master degree from the Tsinghua University at Beijing, respectively. As an author of more than 100 research papers, Prof. Peng’s research interests include high performance concrete, ultra-high-performance concrete and recycled aggregate concrete.
