In 2006, Chinas IC manufacturing sector grew by approximately 32.6% compared to 2005, with shipment value reaching 30.9 billion RMB (US$4.1 billion). Such growth was contributed by the development of Chinese foundries, as well as major international companies such as UMC, TSMC, and Hynix that have directly and indirectly set up factories in China. In 2006, Chinas major IC manufacturers included SMIC, Hynix-ST Semiconductor, HuaHong NEC, HeJian Technology, TSMC (Shanghai), Shougang NEC Electronics, ASMC, Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing, and CSMC. This report will analyze these companies backgrounds, revenue, production, production process technologies, and their collaboration in the IC industry.
