General Mills is a major producer of packaged consumer foods. The company distributes its products in more than 100 countries outside the US. The company recorded revenues of $12,442 million in the fiscal year ended May 2007, an increase of 6.2% over 2006. In May 2006, Cereal Partners Worldwide (CPW), the successful joint venture between Nestle and General Mills, acquired the Uncle Tobys ready-to-eat and hot cereal business in Australia in the first quarter ended June to August 2007. This acquisition has moved move CPW into a predominant market share position in the Australian cereal market. In 2008, the group plans to expand its market share through further acquisition and joint ventures. It also intends to continue its focus on cost reduction.
