A 3D cinema screen is designed to provide the viewer with a high-quality movie experience that is otherwise not achievable in a 2D system. When in use, the 3D system has a 3D-capable server that receives stereo movie information from the stereo digital theatre and distributes it to the projector as distinct left and right streams. The use of stereoscopy, the method that makes 3D technology possible, results in the requirement for spectacles in order to see 3D information. Providing separate images to each eye that combine to give the illusion of depth. All 3D-capable projectors, as well as LCD and 3D televisions, operate similarly.
