The goal of this Video Seminar is to provide lawyers and executives with essential information about how companies can and must integrate government relations into their business strategy. The DVD is viewable on any computer or iPod (that supports video) and features 50 minutes of live video with Cynthia Berry of Powell Goldstein, sharing her knowledge with and experience of corporate strategic planning. About Cynthia Berry: Cynthia Berry is Chair of our Advocacy and Government Relations practice and Co-Chair of the Powell Goldstein Political Action Committee. Widely regarded as one of Washingtons top lobbyists, she is a respected advocate before Congress and the Administration on a range of issues, including health care; appropriations; education reform; aviation; telecommunications; and international matters. She routinely advises clients on lobbying disclosure requirements, Foreign Agents Registration Act compliance, election law issues, and government ethics. She represents the interests of Fortune 500 corporations, professional associations, and non-profit organizations. Ms. Berry was appointed by Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson to the Secretarys Advisory Committee on Genetic Testing and to the Secretarys Advisory Committee on Genetics, Health and Society. She served on the 2005 Presidential Rank Award Review Board, assisting the President of the United States in determining which of the federal governments career Senior Executive Service Members merit the rank of Distinguished Executive. She was appointed by former Governor James Gilmore to the board of directors of the Virginia Birth-Related Neurological Injury Compensation Program for two terms and served as Vice Chair of the Board. Ms. Berry is a frequent featured speaker at association conferences, has been published in The Washington Times, and has appeared on television as a Republican analyst. Ms. Berry served as a speechwriter at both the 2000 and 2004 Republican National Conventions, penning speeches for Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN), George P. Bush, family members of 9/11 heroes and NFL Hall of Fame Star Lynn Swann, among others. Notwithstanding her Republican credentials, she has long-standing relationships on both sides of the political aisle and excels in forging alliances between diverse groups and political constituencies.
