  • May 2023
  • Region: Global
  • Primary Research Group
  • ID: 5785487

This study looks closely at which lawyers read and post in law blogs, and how much they use them.  The study gives detailed distinct data sets on blog readers and posters, as well as data on their evaluation of the effectiveness of blog posting.  Respondents list their favorite law blogs and their feelings about their firm’s strategies in legal blogging.

Just a few of this report’s many findings are:

  • The mean time spent by lawyers in the sample on reading blogs is 24.48 minutes per day.
  • By age group, the highest percentage of respondents who have written a blog post for a legal blog were in the 40-49 age range.
  • Above the Law was the most-read law blog for the lawyers in the sample.
  • Female respondents were generally less enthusiastic than males about the effectiveness of blog posting but females nonetheless posted more often than males.

Data in the reports is based on a survey of 261 lawyers from major law firms in the United States, predominantly firms with more than 500 lawyers.  Data in the report is broken down by legal field or specialty, gender, work title, ranking of law school attended, and size of the law firm.
