A Matrix Handbook for Statisticians emphasizes computational statistics and algorithms due to the growing need for more modern techniques and includes numerous references to both the theory behind the methods and the applications of the methods. Authors Bio:
George A.F. Seber is a Professor in the Department of Statistics at The University of Auckland in New Zealand. He received his PhD in Statistics from Manchester University in England. In 1973, Dr. Seber was the first Chair in Statistics at The University of Auckland as well as the Headship of the newly created Statistics Unit within the Mathematics Department.
He was involved in developing the new Department of Statistics at The University of Auckland in 1994. He is the author or co-author of nine books, five of which have been published by Wiley. His research interests include statistical ecology, bioinformatics, and the estimation of animal abundances.
