The group operates through three business divisions: Karstadt Warenhaus (Karstadt), Primondo/mail order and Thomas Cook. In fiscal 2007, the group changed its name from KarstadtQuelle to Arcandor.

Another subsidiary of the group, neckermann.de, is the third largest European mail order company, active in 15 European countries.
Arcandor pools its retail support activities under the 'services' segment. Arcandors services segment operates the groups financial and information services, and customer relationship management (CRM) service offerings.
