Asymmetric phase transfer catalysis is an emerging topic in the field of organocatalysis and defenitely more fascinating asymmetric reactions by organocatalysis are expected in the near future. In contrast to the ordinary metal-catalyzed reactions, the phase transfer catalysis has several advantages including the water-tolerable property with operational simplicity by using environmentally-benign catalysts, and the easy separation of products because of biphasic nature. Hence, this timely book provides highly useful information on laboratory protocols as well as the application to the process chemistry and chiral technology in Industry, so that the up-to-date information in this exciting field can be shared.

Edited by the leading expert on the topic, this is the first book to present the latest developments in this exciting field. Alongside the theoretical aspects, the top contributors provide practical protocols to give readers additional important information otherwise unavailable. A must for every synthetic chemist in academia and industry.
