Introduction

Our survey of 1,000 IT managers throughout 2007, aims to discover which of the eight core enterprise technologies will be prioritized for investment in the next two years. This brief also identifies in which technology area enterprises will be making their largest IT investment in 2007 and provides an insight into enterprises outsourcing priorities.

Scope

Provides an overview of current market penetration for eight core enterprise technology areas. Analyses which solutions will be receiving the most investments both in the short and medium term. Discovers which technologies enterprises are prioritizing for their largest IT project in 2007 and gives an idea of how much they will be investing. Reviews enterprises current outsourcing preferences.

Highlights

Enterprise applications stand out as having the highest number of investments: around 50% of the surveyed enterprises are planning to invest in both the short and medium term. The penetration of enterprise applications is already high and many of these investments will be upgrades to existing software or an expansion of software portfolios.
