Royal Mail Holdings is a postal services group. The group provides letter and package delivery for residential, commercial, and government customers, among others. The group operates through five business divisions: Royal mail, general logistics systems, post office, parcelforce worldwide and other businesses.

Royal Mail collects and delivers over 84 million letters and packages to 27 million addresses every working day, in line with its unique Universal Service Obligation. In addition, it also handles over 1 million parcels a day, through its network of 667 depots; 29 central transshipment points; 16,000 delivery vehicles and 1,700 long distance trucks.

The overall financial performance of Royal Mail has been weak in the last five year period (2003-2007). The group’s revenues grew at a moderate compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3% to reach £9,179 million (approximately $18,013.9 million) in fiscal year 2007.
