The CECOM Rapid Response (CR2) program, administered through the Army Materiel Command’s Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) office, has a potential maximum value of approximately $23.2 billion over eight years. The program allows the Government to acquire a broad range of technology services – spanning from research and development to logistics support – and is not limited to defense agencies but is available across government. There has been speculation within the government IT industry that CECOM is considering recompeting this contract early – only half way through its potential lifespan.
This Powerpoint presentation report provides an introduction to CR2, looks at the reported spending on the program and considers what aspect might drive an early recompete.
